When was the remote work concept started?

Well, the terms "telecommuting" and "telework" were coined by Jack Nilles in 1973 for  work from home. Research shows that the concept of remote work started between 1994 - 1995. However, according to the research reports, in 1979, the concept of remote work was tested by five IBM employees. Eventually, the count rose to 2000 by 1983. In the year 2022, statistics show that there are 4.7 million people who work remotely at least half the time in the United States.
